Colleagues
|
- William Blazer -- Sapporo-san: His name is pretty hard to say, okay? He looks like he's been through hell, but his sense of humor makes him seem accessible enough.
- Jason R. Butler -- Sensei: Like it or not, Jason Butler has been stuck with Eien from the moment they met in Mikage-cho. They might be an unlikely team, but Jason's unconventional investigations were a perfect proving ground for Eien, and ultimately responsible for her recruitment into D4. Of her colleagues, he's the one she's most comfortable talking to, and their acquaintance benefits from the fact that they knew one another before they were formally co-workers.
- Ryotaro Dojima -- Kacho #1: A stern and busy man with a puppet fixation of some kind.
- Shion Katsuragi -- Intimidation Factor: The amazonian detective works in Inaba. She's been nice to Eien from the very start, offering to help show the rookie the ropes, but Eien finds her physical presence somewhat daunting. She might be the strongest woman Eien knows, and the spotter finds it enviable.
- Enoha Koinose -- Engrish A++: She and Eien helped to save the world recently, and there isn't really any better way to bond than throwing your life to the fates with someone else. Enoha seems difficult not to like...and the more Eien sees of her, the more affection she feels for the kind of gentle strength Enoha seems to possess.
- Hajime Shidou -- Naisu Guy: Poor Hajime just wants to spend more time at home with his daughter. It's adorable, and a little bit sad, and even though Eien thought she'd grown out of her babysitting days, it's hard to resist little Mayumi.
- Katsuya Suou -- Kacho #2: This guy is even more stern than Dojima, if that can be believed. He seems to lecture on reflex. That said, he also likes to bake and he's extremely fond of coffee, so he's probably alright. Gotta do something about those sandal-socks, though.

Friends & Acquaintences
|
(Did Eien know you from school, or growing up on Port Island? If so, you probably belong in this section...)
- Aigis -- Roboto: Aigis seems to turn up to almost every supernatural disturbance that Eien's been present for, and she's always been friendly and helpful...save for that one time she asked what Eien had sensed from Anzai's bedding, which was the exact opposite of helpful, but at least it isn't anything the SEESbot could be faulted for. Eien may have inadvertently and unwittingly hurt her feelings, recently. ...do robots have feelings? ...was that insensitive too? Damnit.
- Yukio Fujii -- Awk: The single most awkward boy Eien has ever met. He seems to mean well, but he seems physically incapable of saying anything without stuttering -- unless it's about his missing sister. That doesn't make it any less awkward. He passed along an information dump to Eien about the case, but she's been too busy to properly follow up...yet.
- Kaede Ikeda -- Mai's Friend: She insists that she owes Eien a favor, in spite of Eien's demurrals. It isn't like her to expect a return gesture for her aid, but who knows -- the day may come when she needs to cash in that chip.
- Tohya Kidzuki -- Someone Like Me: She's a telepath, too. Eien's never met another one, but this one endeared herself by willingly protecting Eien in Xibalba. Those are two things that won't quickly be forgotten. Besides, Tohya's been spotting for a cohesive group for far longer than Eien; it pays to know people with that kind of experience.
- Thora Kobayashi -- She's A Brick -- House: One of Mai's best friends, apparently, and another face that constantly turns up in the crowd whenever Eien's witness to some sort of supernatural happening. They helped restore the Inaba shrine...and Thora is, despite her intimidating size, always very kind. She can also hold her liquor as well as anyone else in D4, which is impressive.
- Anzai Mizuno -- Wha- Wh...Nobody! Nothing! Why!: It'd be hard to call them 'friends' when they've never really conversed beyond the terse exchange of information necessary to battling supernatural threats...but nevertheless, Eien was there when Anzai needed to be pulled out of the TV, and the big priest helped Eien in return when SEES oversaw the destruction of the Emperor shadow in Okina. There are a lot of reasons (read: probably six or seven girls' worth, times ten or twelve dreams apiece, plus violent magical prowess, multiplied by abs) that Eien feels uncharacteristically awkward around him -- but none of them are his fault. Except the no-shirt thing. That is definitely his fault.
- Miwa Saitou -- Reflection: The only thing about Miwa that Eien didn't understand at their first real meeting was why it had taken so long for them to meet. Not only is Miwa a spotter, but she's also an expert in certain occult matters -- focusing on the celestial spheres, heaven and earth and whatever pits fester below. It might be stretching things to call them 'alike' overall -- Miwa seems hesitant, cautious, perhaps anxious, or maybe 'troubled' is a better word; Eien is earthy, relaxed, wry, a bit irreverent -- but she took to the young woman instantly. Earth knows no force like that of nerds communing about their chosen obsession.
- Tatsuya Sudou -- BAD TOUCH: Feels like burning alive in a horrible conflagration of agony, shame, and necrotic abnormality. F-minus-minus would not touch again. On the other hand, they had a decent conversation about the events surrounding Xibalba, so as far as Eien knows, he's just a guy who had the bad luck to be caught up in the crossfire of two dueling supernatural entities. It's an open question as to how long this impression will survive.
- Tatsuya Suou -- Mr. Serious: The younger brother of her boss doesn't seem like the most personable of people, but after he caught her in the woods in Lunarvale having a spat with a rather unusual opponent, he didn't immediately pass judgement...and he gave her information about an online forum for the exchange of supernatural information. He's hard to read, but he's earned his spot on the list of people Eien considers Friendlies.
