Profile
A quiet and introspective student at Yasogami High School in Inaba, Shirou Sekigawa is the fourth of four brothers in the Sekigawa family. As a child his parents passed him over for the other sons, and as a result he grew up alone and without many friends, except his uncle who sent him souvenirs from all over the world. This instilled a desire to see the world in Shirou... one that he hasn't realized as yet. He used to withdrawn from a lot of things that he should be interested in at his age, formerly burying himself in his school work, eagerly reading about different countries, and especially their mythologies. He's also become enamored with the idea of becoming a doctor, learning everything he can now about human anatomy. Recent events have forced a change in perspective, and also an admittance from the boy the man that raised him wasn't his real father, but rather he was the result of an illegitimate union between his mother Midori and an American. But rather then dwell on this, he's realized that this was the reason for his treatment as a child. This has unlocked a lot of the fear that has caged him, but he's still struggling to come up with the willpower to completely free himself from his old ways. But now that he has friends, and a cause to fight for in the KDA, the world is at his feet.

Persona
Charon is the ferryman that guards the river Styx, normally portrayed as a grim and brooding individual. Portrayals vary on his physical appearance: while some accounts point towards a old, haggard man, some say that he's a young man with haunted if striking features. Shirou's 'version' of the minor god reveals a young man clad in black robes, heavily muscular body covered in symmetrical and intricate green lines that seem to pulse with energy on his almost bone white skin. He carries with him his oar, but he also pulses with dark energy.
The two of them make a good team, Charon representing a natural change or natural force, and Shirou representing the drive to understand those changes. Charon is also a 'guardian' of a sorts, protecting the gates of life and death and thus granting Shirou both death-dealing and healing magics. But Charon is also a demanding man; those that die must have a coin to pay their passage across the River Styx. Shirou is just more likely to loot a fallen shadow's carcass for usable items and yen though.

Notable Social Links
0 - THE FOOL:
- Souji Seta: The 'Boss' or Seta-senpai and someone he's talked to a few times now. Shirou's gearing up to try and make him take his ideas seriously, and prove his worth to the Investigation Team. It's been slow going. To say the least.
- Tohru Adachi: Inaba detective, and someone Shirou's talked to on and off again. Shown a lot of concern for the boy, and he took it easy on Fumiya, so he's okay in his book.
I - THE MAGICIAN:
- Yosuke Hanamura: Fellow member of the KDA. Kind of a moron, but way better at trolling. Always refers to him respectfully as Hanamaru-senpai... usually. Helped Yosuke run Fort Junes while he was gone; even going so far as to steal his room when he wasn't there.
- Shiki Ichimonji: His own personal Rival. Has no aim, but he won't hold that against him. Slowly learning more about the manga boy, and would have helped him out more in Mikage-cho if it wasn't for the fact that he stayed on the East side as a form of penance. Generally tries to hang with Shiki when life is getting a bit /too/ intense.
II - THE HIGH PRIESTESS:
- Yukiko Amagi: Amagi-senpai. Tried to get a restful weekend for the KDA going at the Inn, but it kind of fell through. She got to see him break reality. Recently she experimented on him, giving him new chocolates to taste for Valentine's Day; she was going to perfect something for Chie. The fact that Shirou is still standing proves the boy has a Destiny to achieve.
- Masumi Hayashi: A still forming relationship, Shirou has run into Masumi several times now. While at first a little shocked and perplexed by his wearing a dress and preferring to be referred to as a 'she', he quickly accepted this fact. The fact that he oogled him for a moment afterwords wasn't lost on Shirou either.
- Shiori Hibiki: One of his best female friends, he met Shiori on and off for a few times; it wasn't until they were caught together in Mikage-cho that they had any real direct dealings. She stayed behind with Shirou and a few others while Yosuke lead the charge to the east side of the city. He tries his best to help her out, especially since life just keeps screwing with her.
- Yuuka Chiba: A rather caustic friendship, with each of them snipping at each other over the boards and phone. But they're still friends, with Shirou even saving her life after she got stabbed. Had a small crush on Yuume-Mi, her idol self from an alternate time line he vaguely remembers; this has led to an increase of snark on his end as a cover.
V - THE HIEROPHANT:
- Mae Ikina: Former crush. Tried to help her tract down Lucas Xavier, but that too fell through. Hadn't seen her in months, and is rather concerned that she's simply vanished somehow. Is determined to help 'save' her.
- Nobuhiko Sekigawa: NPC. Shirou's father, a cold, domineering man. Has basically made life hell for Shirou, since the teen isn't his own son; Midori had him from an affair. He would rather tell someone else how to run their life then to figure out how to fix his own. Shirou plans on moving out as soon as possible, and sever ties with him.
VI - THE LOVERS:
- Midori Sekigawa: NPC. Shirou's mother; a woman kept in a loveless marriage, she used to treat Shirou rather coldly due to reminding her of her affair. Recently she's warmed back up to him and tried to undo some of the damage she's caused; Shirou was quick to forgive her as well, placing most of the blame for his treatment as a child on his father. She still remembers fondly the days before she married Nobuhiko.
VII - THE CHARIOT:
- Fumiya Watanabe: One of his best male friends. Usually just referred to as 'Fumiya' or 'That Idiot'. Tried his best to keep Fumiya out of the TV and all the general WTFery, and of course that failed. Helped to get him back /out/ of the TV, and it was his first rescue mission. They're still pretty much bros, working together and studying for classes.
- Chie Satonaka: Satonaka-senpai. Shirou has a tiny crush on her, but he'd never voice it. She's tough and spunky and living under someone else's shadow, something he's used to. Was Dynamic Entried by her in Mikage-cho. Worried about her a little bit during the Shion Rescue Investigation, but due to being 'treed' he couldn't quite help her or learn more.
VIII - JUSTICE:
- Nanako Dojima: Nanako Dojima is Souji's cousin, but is referred to as his little sister. She's also the daughter of the police detective Ryotaro Dojima, so a big part of working with Souji involves making sure Nanako is safe from the supernatural things. She's gotten in trouble a few times by interfering in things that she shouldn't have been in the area with, and as such, has seen Shirous' darker side. She still seems to like him though.
- Ichiya Chigiri: His counter-balance; instantly recognized his resonance as a mirror of his own in Junes. First was on edge because of it, but after finding out that he's been fighting against That Bastard Kandori, he's trying to keep him as a friend. Worked with him in Mikage-cho, and again to break into Kandori's room in the KNOWS facility. That last one was a bust, as they were found out quickly.
- Hajime Sekigawa: NPC. Shirou's oldest brother, first of four. A quiet but strong willed man, he's taken over for his father as priest of the shrine. While he resents the coldness that his father used on all the brothers, he remains steadfast at his side. The fairest and calmest of the brothers, he tries to treat Shirou normally, even with the age difference.
X - THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE:
- Koichi Nakano: Another friend, and the other kid he was thrown into the TV with. That tends to make you friends no matter what. Has been talking to him before and after the events, but his own obsession with fighting Kandori is hurting that.
XI - STRENGTH:
- Kenji Kurosawa: The street samurai himself. One of Shirou's first real friends, he tried to nurture Shirou's hidden hot-bloodedness. Had lost touch with him, but recently saw him again. Wither or not he sticks around remains to be seen.
- Yoh Yamagatani: Shirou just thought he was a typical delinquent meathead... but after repeated meetings, he's come to realize that while Yoh isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, he's a good guy and means well. He's still kind of an idiot though.
XII - THE HANGED MAN:
- Reki Kurusu: A middle schooler to become a first-year high school student this year. Shirou sees a lot of himself in the industrious and serious kid; but he also sees that the poor kid is going /way/ overboard on trying to be an adult already. So he's keeping an eye out for him. They've exchanged words on the matter now, and Shirou's trying to get Reki into the KDA now that the kid has awakened to his Persona.
XV - THE DEVIL:
- Masako Junnishi: A minor idol that Shirou's run into a few times now. He was very respectful and polite to her at first, but when she used her sharp tongue, he was more then happy to quip back, verbally sparring with her. Has given her his number in case her streak of bad luck holds, as he has an odd feeling weirdness will continue to follow her.
XVI - TEMPERANCE:
- Naomi Suzuno: A fast forming friendship. Met her literally a day before the Mikage-cho incident. He was secretly rather smitten with her initially, which made it even more awkward as she stayed in Fort Junes as he took over it when Yosuke left. Thinks she's smart, sophisticated, charming, and way out of his league. His love and loyalty to Thora also helps prevent his feelings from turning from friendship to anything else.
XVI - THE TOWER:
- Thora Kobayashi: Intimate Rank relationship. Originally rather hated her, as she was a threat to Mae, his then crush. That changed when Kenji forced him to ask the next girl out he saw after being rejected by Mae... and that was Thora. Of course. After rightfully being flattened for embarrassing her, he offered her another date as an apology. Their relationship has grown from that, each of them finding in one another what they need. He loves her for her strength and uncompromising attitude, her love of samurai flicks and a mutual love of metal. The fact that she could lift him up over her own shoulder doesn't hurt things either. He purposely speared the DVA Device during Halloween after getting riled up by Kandori and Aki, both refusing to tell him where she was (trapped in Mikage-cho). This coincidentally fulfilled an oath he gave to her before Thora went to the KNOWS facility; that if they had tried to hurt her, he'd tear the world down around their ears. This he even swore to the Gods; it's unknown just yet what reaction they had to that.
XVII - THE STAR:
- Hinata Itoh: The youngest of the three infamous Itoh sisters. While she was there to help save Shirou in his TV dungeon, it wasn't until recently that they've started talking to each other more. She's cool, and they both impress each other with their respective mindsets.
- Sanzou Sekigawa: NPC. Shirou's closest in age brother, but probably furthest in personality. A bullheaded kid that's making a name for himself as a soccer ace, he's got a scholarship to Lunarvale Community College. He hopes to become a famous soccer player, and is on his way there.
XIX - THE SUN:
- Shion Katsuragi: Semi-mentor to Shirou. Katsuragi-san, as always. Was not happy to hear that Shirou was going to use Fumiya as bait to catch the killer. Has volunteered to help Shirou start tracking down his biological father, David Goddard.
XX - JUDGEMENT:
- Jitarou Sekigawa: NPC. The brother Shirou's closet two, and the second of four. Having left the house to go to college in Sumaru University, enrolling in the Law department. He mellowed out after realizing how much of a jerk he was acting towards his younger brothers, and has giving Shirou a lot of time and attention, and tries to be a 'cool' older brother.

Trivia
- A born and raised son of Inaba, currently in class 1-2 of Yasogami High.
- His father, Nobuhiko, is a shinto priest for a shrine outside of town. His mother Midori is a homemaker, and often gossips with all the other women of Inaba. He has three brothers, the oldest one living at home and taking over the family Shirne (Hajime), the second living in Sumaru and going to college there (Jitarou), and the third (Sanzou) is a third year student at Yasogami, and constantly loves to make life hell for Shirou.
- He's been pondering many career paths, the primary one being a medical professional of some sort. That's changed as of late, with the realities of the world making him wonder if becoming a permanent part of the KDA is the best thing to do.
- Has night terrors occasionally due to a horrific experience suffered in the Sun Mall of Lunarville. Mostly they're of yellow and red eyes and red snapping jaws, along with sudden crippling isolation. Particularly bad ones will have him waking up screaming. These have lessened recently, in quantity and power. Rarely if ever now does he wake up screaming, but it's hard to say because time has made him forget, or if helping to stop Kandori a few more times has given him more inner strength.
- He's retired his first yari, the one that he used in Lunarville and through-out the fights in Mikage-cho. It shall be left black and cracked and soot-covered, marred by the electricity of the DVA Device and all the fighting. He put down good money for a replacement, somehow bringing back some Cerberus fur with him from Mikage-cho...
- Due to time traveling by Yuuka Chiba, Shirou was a big fan of Yuume-Mi, and thus learned about idol singers in general. Once the time line righted itself, he was able to retain these memories and information; as a result his view of Yuuka Chiba has changed a bit.
- Is Weak to Maids, and Strong against Ojou.

Soundtrack
- Best of You By The Foo Fighters
- "Where you born to resist or be abused?"
- Shirou's call to action song. No more a scared boy running and hiding, it's the song the represents both his hidden hot-bloodedness and his new desire to fight and protect those that are important to him.
- "Where you born to resist or be abused?"
- Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood By The Animals
- "I'm just a soul who's intentions are good. Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood."
- Being part of a misunderstood arcana and equally understood himself, Shirou has voiced some opinions and has come up with some plans that are... less then well liked. But his heart is /usually/ in the right place; but there is that expression about Hell and good intentions.
- "I'm just a soul who's intentions are good. Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood."
- Don't Pay the Ferryman by Chris De Burgh
- "Beware that hooded old man at the rudder."
- As stated before, Shirou does some rather questionable things when the chips are down. While he's never been forced to take excessive violence to a human opponent, Shirou has realized that in himself there is Death, and the power to end a life is well within his powers.
- "Beware that hooded old man at the rudder."
- Dreaming of You by The Corals
- "Up in my lonely room, I'm still dreaming of you. Oh what can I do? I still need you, but I don't want you know"
- A song for those that he became friends with and then seemed to have slipped on by. Kenji, Mae, those who touched his life will be remembered fondly.
- "Up in my lonely room, I'm still dreaming of you. Oh what can I do? I still need you, but I don't want you know"
- Estasi Dell Anima by David Sardy
- (instrumental only)
- Another battle theme, usually the 'desperate battle' one. Taken after squaring off against Kandori solo. Because sometimes, everybody lives.
- (instrumental only)
- Four Color Love Story by The Metasciences
- "Forget this life, forget this Universe; you're everything I need. You are my life, you are my Universe; they'll have to go through me."
- Shirou's song for Thora, betraying his intense protective streak for her. While he's not a superhero (yet), he'd do anything to keep her safe. Including destroying a small bit of reality.
- "Forget this life, forget this Universe; you're everything I need. You are my life, you are my Universe; they'll have to go through me."
- Kick Drum Heart by The Avett Brothers
- "It's not the chase that I love, it's me following you."
- Another love song, showing the sweeter side of Thora and Shirou's relationship, specifically the bit right after he realized that he liked her. Just being with her was enough to get his heart to flutter.
- "It's not the chase that I love, it's me following you."
- Long Road to Ruin by The Foo Fighters
- "Long Road to Ruin, there in your eyes, under the cold streetlights"
- Not quite a love song, but very emblematic of Thora or any girl that Shirou gets close to. He's got a romantic heart, and will try to prove himself to her, even past the point of being unhealthy.
- "Long Road to Ruin, there in your eyes, under the cold streetlights"
- The Stone by The Dave Mathews Band
- "I was just wondering if you'd come along. Hold up my head when my head won't hold on."
- The very first bit of his and Thora's dating, just putting out the feelers to see if it could work at all. A rather melancholy song of course, as he tries to make a connection.
- "I was just wondering if you'd come along. Hold up my head when my head won't hold on."
- This is War by 30 Seconds to Mars
- "It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie. The moment to live and the moment to die. The moment to fight, the moment to fight, to fight, to fight, to fight"
- Another pump-you-up-song, this is Shirou's manifesto. This game that he's found himself in, waged silently in the alleys and TVs and Dark Hours... he plays to win. He'll protect those he can, and fight those he must, but sometimes the worse happens... but those tragedies just pave the way for new victories.
- "It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie. The moment to live and the moment to die. The moment to fight, the moment to fight, to fight, to fight, to fight"
