Hajime is a single dad with an infant daughter, Mayumi, who was born on January 25th, 2011.

The family lives in Okina currently. No pets in the household as of now because Hajime doesn't have time.

His parents live in Port Island. His father is an ex-police officer and his mother stayed at home to take care of the kids. He also has a younger brother, Eiji, who is 23 and lives in Tokyo.

He is a Detective in the Sumaru Police Department, who transferred in early May of 2011.

His wife, Miki, was murdered in March of 2011 in a botched bank robbery attempt by a newbie Yakuza member in Port Island. The Yakuza member was later killed by a higher up. This was highly publicized in Port Island and probably even the surrounding cities.

Profile and Skills
Being the son of a decorated police officer, Hajime Shidou seemed to be destined to follow in his father's footsteps. It wasn't what he wanted at first but he ultimately became a Police Officer and later, after getting married, made Detective. Through a tragic series of events, his wife Miki was died shortly after their daughter Mayumi was born and so he was left to raise her alone. After her death and the rumors that came up, the family moved from Port Island to Okina trying to find a way to move on. However, he still feels a tremendous sense of guilt and responsibility for his wife’s death, along with knowing that he won't ever find true justice. He lives in Okina currently and commutes to work at the Sumaru Police Department. His daughter is still very young so he balances taking care of her and work, all without the help of his family. He is very dedicated to his work but due to bearing the burden of the tragedy tends to be overly emotional or involved in cases, especially ones that involve young families.

Aigis: A girl that Hajime is vaguely familiar with. She told him that she wants to be a police officer which he thought was pretty admirable. Though he hopes that she's doing it for herself and not to please her parents or something. She also seemed to like his daughter. :)
