There is little to be said of who Benihime Asano is; she speaks nothing of her past, of herself, or anything about her, keeping entirely to herself. However, she is a seemingly good-natured and well-adjusted young woman, soft-spoken, polite and friendly and more than willing to lend an ear to someone in need. She is prim, proper and disgustingly perfect, an over-achiever and model student among her peers. But nothing is as it seems: rumor has it she is an heiress to family wealth, and left behind a troubled past. Others suggest she is a liar and manipulator, an arrogant girl who uses others in any way possible, chewing them up before spitting them out when she's bored of them. Some say Benihime is evil incarnate, a venomous witch who enjoys others emotional pain. But rumors are rumors, and young people are certainly an exaggerate lot, aren't they...?

Known as both a fierce warrior and powerful sorceress who hailed from Athens, Carman invaded Ireland with her three sons, known as Dub (black, darkness), Dother (evil) and Dian (violence). Using her black magic, she blighted the fruits out of spite and ravaged the lands in her invasion. Only the Tuatha Dé Danann were able to stop her, driving her sons out of the land and imprisoning her, where she eventually died of longing and loneliness.

SENSE: Like wandering down a dark forested road in the middle of night; certainly it's just your imagination that there are eyes out there in the darkness, that your every single move is being watched from afar. It isn't real, that sensation racing down your spine, that cold chill that makes it seem like something wicked is out there watching and waiting for you. It's cold, like a chilly autumn wind, but completely innocent and harmless. It's just your imagination...
SMELL: The scent of biting autumn rain and wet leaves. The sweet and pungent scent of overly-ripened apples.
SOUND: The whisper of leaves, the distant movement of something stirring through fallen foliage.

• The kanji of in the writing of Benihime's name (紅姫) translates to "crimson princess," while Asano (浅野) translates to "shallow plain."
• The name "Benihime" is an atypical Japanese girl name, and is generally regarded as being rare and a bit strange.
• Her favorite color is honey-yellow.
• Benihime's best (and favorite) subject is Biology. Psychology is a very, very close second.
• She is a member of the Tennis club at Seven Sisters High and a member of the Ikebana cultural club.
• Benihime does not like being the center of attention, and typically dislikes crowds.
• She owns a cat named Poe, and it is the only creature in existence she acknowledges with any sort of human-like affections.
• Not surprisingly, she enjoys reading--particularly fairy tales.
• She hates the entire human race.

  • Yuzuriha Hatsumi: In a chance (?) meeting on the Samegawa flood plain in Inaba, Benihime met the young Ninja girl in passing. However, unlike past encounters with the denizens of Inaba, she decided that she'd very much like to become fast friends with Yuzuriha. Something about her duality piques Benihime's interests. They will be the best friends ever.

  • Kanji Tatsumi: Benihime met Kanji in his hometown of Inaba when taking a day trip for herself to the sleepy backwater town. She does not particularly like him, but finds his loud demeanor and abrasive behaviorism mildly intriguing.
  • Kyo Enda: The ex-boyfriend of Miwa Saitou, Benihime's interest in him came about actually meeting the former Sevens' class president in the flesh. Well-mannered, flattering and charming, she rather enjoyed making of his acquaintance...in front of his ex-girlfriend. Being handsome also certainly helped her develop a rather positive opinion of the young man.

  • Akira Ookuma: One of Omoikane's "lackeys," she'd met Akira once when trying to get in touch with Daisuke. She pities him; after all, working for a man like Daisuke must be a real downer on the self-confidence. He amuses her, however--he is certainly not what he appears to be, and that alone interests her because it reminds her very much of herself. There's certainly something there beneath the skin, and she certainly wishes to discover it and exploit it for her own amusement.

  • Miwa Saitou: A young college student who is of seemingly polite and patient demeanor, Benihime happened upon her by chance in Sumaru. A former student of Sevens, her interest in poor Miwa stemmed only from the fact that she was the now-former girlfriend of Kyo Enda. While the "rift" between the former lovers seems smoothed over, there's just something about it all that makes Benihime want to exploit and break the well-mannered Miwa.

  • Daisuke Itami: A man as bizarre as Benihime, albeit more openly so about it, she hasn't developed a full opinion of him beyond "completely immature." Fortunately for him his reputation is good enough that she's willing to give him a chance to prove himself to her. He's intriguing enough that she's willing to subject herself to his strange behavior for a chance to pick him apart further and see just what makes him tick.
