Kasumi is a first year at Gekkoukan High School. She is pretty quiet and reserved most of the time. Lately though, she has been trying to socialize more, especially with starting at a new school. Her father owns a bookstore in Port Island and Kasumi spends the majority of her time there, either helping her father or just reading or writing. People are generally friendly to her but she tends to close up if people try to get too close. She has a good reason for this though. The secrets and tragedies she holds in her heart leave many people wondering exactly what is going on in her mind.

History

Kasumi is the daughter of Port Island bookstore owner, Fumihiko. She has lived with just her father for most of her life. Growing up she was an extremely social and happy child. Her talents as a writer were recognized even at a young age. However, when she was 8 years old, she witnessed a horrible crime. It caused her to withdraw and she was afraid to talk to other people. For awhile, she did not actually remember what she saw but when she was 13 she had a flashback to the incident. She remembered everything that she saw. Feeling extremely guilty about it she retreated even further into her reading and writing. Now it is 3 years later. Kasumi is about to start as a first-year at Gekkoukan High School. She is trying to get to know others and leave her comfort zone. However, her greatest underlying fear is that people will somehow find out about her past. The secret that she holds is even hidden from her own family and her father even. She hates hiding the truth but she cannot bear to see what would happen if he found out. Therefore, even though she may seem like she is sociable on the outside, she has a secret that is keeping her from really letting others see who she is.

From what Kasumi has seen so far she honestly is not sure what to think of Aigis. A little different than other people she has met so far but that does not bother her. She felt bad though that she had nothing in return for him. It seems like no matter where she goes, he is there also. Kind of weird but nice at the same time. XII - THE HANGED MAN: XIII - DEATH: XIV- TEMPERANCE: Hitoshi Taniguchi: After a brief encounter at the Strip Mall, Kasumi found she has a couple of things on common with Hitoshi, writing and reading. She thinks he is pretty nice overall. XV - THE DEVIL: XVI - THE TOWER: Himeru Namikawa: Kasumi has met Himeru a couple times. Her opinion of her is that she is a teenager in an old person's body essentially. She is very proper and quick to correct you. Not sure if they will be friends or not. Kasumi doesn't want to have to be worried all the time if she is doing the right thing, especially around another teenager who is not much older than herself. XVII - THE STAR: XVIII - THE MOON: Keitaro Nagasaku: So far he is the only other first year Gekkoukan student Kasumi has met. They have been in a few social settings together and Kasumi has formed a pretty good relationship with him. One night she opened up to him by showing him a picture of her family before the tragedy. Their relationship got a better because of this. XIX -THE SUN: XX - JUDGEMENT: Kanon Itoh: While Kanon is older than Kasumi she still likes her, especially her tattoos. Kasumi invited her to her birthday celebration even though they had only met one time previously.
