- Naomi Suzuno - Cautiously loved friend - Someone who found herself stumbling in the Dark Hour during a visit to Port Island and needed a hand to keep things under control. Mai found herself amused at repeating the cycle of passing on the knowledge necessary to survive the supernatural time, along with advice of not doing anything foolish. Yet Naomi's adaptability and sharp mind is what was found most impressive during the events of Mikage-cho. Also speaks with the same style of formality. The bond of trust toward Naomi has deepened over what was expected to be nothing beyond girl talk and tea, but then Mai's never been one for simple girl talk. Trusted contact and friend. Even after assaulting said friend in the basement of Tartarus due to conflicting objectives between SEES and KNOWS, feels no resentment or anger toward her and the reverse felt true as well. She recently allowed Naomi inside her home, although while her parents were out, mixing catching up and matters of greater emotional complexity regarding Mai's own desires and loneliness compared to the terrifyingly strong yet fragile bond she sees Naomi have with her other friends. Naomi currently holds on to her old favored green ribbon. Knew of Mai's true identity and was instrumental in helping her progress to eventually grieve in a healthier manner, witnessed the events in the Abyss of Time.
Miwa Saitou - Kind Soul - Older girl from Seven Sisters High, and sudden acquaintance during an expedition into Tartarus organised by Itsuka Mizuhara. They did not get a chance to talk much, but there was a feeling of common ground, of desire to master their inner power. While they are not friends, Miwa earned Mai's trust in battle to be considered a comrade-in-arms. She is also the first person to have ever used healing magic on Mai. Unfortunatly positioned herself between herself and Suzuno, forcing Mai's hand and being on the recieving end of an attack. Made meeting at New Years rather ankward but a conversation later mended bridges somewhat or at least on Mai's end.
Hitoshi Taniguchi - A Pen-ny for thoughts - Newly moved in SEES recruit of a similar age, Hitoshi Taniguchi is considered alright. She cannot read him in depth but he was neither fool or genius, neither reckless or coward, there was a strange degree of balance to be seen in him. While that doesn't mean they always agree and have had arguments and misunderstandings, ultimatly Mai holds no grudges toward him and finds him a good classmate and decent field asset, even if he nearly ended up becoming a monster snack. Has not crossed her path since the 2nd DVA Incident.
Dona Kimura - Friend of the Internets - A girl from Sumaru met via information seeking on the Darkside Boards, and then met in person during and after the Second DVA Incident, Dona Kimura is considered to be an interesting girl who has a notable passion for the obscure and the occult. The fact that she is not particularly pretty or attractive made her an easy friend, as Mai felt as an equal with Dona in looks and while their fields of respective knowledge differed, they could talk and trade info pleasantly. They also seem to share a nearly irrational hatred for the Vice-President of Sumaru' Seven Sisters High, Daiya Kagami.
Daiya Kagami - Oops I accidently pushed her in front of a train - One of the few people Mai cannot stand for the life of her, Daiya Kagami is a girl who seems to have it easy. She is (apparently) rich, beautiful to a point it's a shock she's not working as a model (or isn't she?), has psychic powers, has no difficulty in social situations and can wrap men around her finger. Her existence triggers jealousy reaction from Mai and her attitude simply pushes on those buttons further. Mai wants to hurt her, and her reasonable side prays they never meet in an area with no witnesses as her darker side may just explode and lash out.
